What does root canal treatment involve?
- Root canal therapy usually requires single to several appointments, the number will depend on which type of tooth is treated. Between appointments, the tooth is covered and temporarily restored.
- Front teeth normally only require fillings however if very broken down, a crown is necessary. Back teeth usually need an onlay or a crown, only in rare circumstances is a filling needed.
This procedure is very common in daily dental practice. This is involved removal of infected or non vital pulp from the pulp chamber and root then fill the canal with inert materials then restored the crown of teeth with filling materials. This treatment is very successful if it done properly with a good dentist. Its may take single to 2/3 visit to complete the procedure. Now-a-days single visit root canal treatment became very popular. But assessment need to be done to confirm if it is possible to do single visit treatment . No antibiotics required unless there is accumulation of pus and not drainable and immunity is compromised. Sometimes painkiller may be required during the procedure.
Technology
We use digital dental radiograph RVG for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment. It gives very clear image and helps in two dimensional assessment of your teeth. By using digital dental radiography its reduces the treatment time much shorter compare to the conventional procedure.

Certainly not! In fact, the pain what you have got due to infection before the treatment will instantly go away after RCT. In some cases dull pain may last few days after Root Canal treatment and gradually goes away.
In case the microbial infection reaches the pulp or the tooth gets abraded till the pulp or in any case where the pulp gets exposed, RCT is required.
Not all the cases. If there is breakage of crown more than 50% and possibility of fracture we suggest for Capping. Otherwise it is restored with filling Materials.
